At what age can my child start playing ABE Soccer?
Your child can start playing ABE Soccer at the age of 3. The Little Kickers team is developed for the younger players. Little Kickers only plays on Saturdays, focusing on basic skills, social skills, and team activities. It is a great experience to determine the interest level of young players.
What days are practice and games?
Little Kickers only plays on Saturdays with the training sessions being split between fun games and an actual game.
Coaches for in-house soccer teams will decide the day and time for practices. Coaches will reach out to the players once teams are created. In-house soccer has games on Saturday mornings.
Similar to in-house teams, coaches for travel soccer teams decide day(s) and time(s) for practices. Coaches will reach out to the players with practice details. Travel soccer has games on Sundays, usually in the afternoon.
What is ABE's cancellation policy for practices?
Coaches are in charge of the cancellation of practices. Therefore, coaches can use their discretion to cancel practice on a given day. It is important to keep in mind that practice must be canceled for lightning and other natural disasters. Referencing PAWest rules, players and coaches must wait 30 minutes after the last seen lightning or thunder before taking the field. The main concern of the ABE organization is to keep players and others safe during the season.
What is ABE's cancellation policy for games?
Cancellations are deliberated and decided by the Board of Directors. The decision to play or cancel a game is made at least an hour before the start of the game. Games are canceled for lightning and other natural disasters. Games will be played in rain and snow. Therefore, please dress all players according to the weather.
If ABE games are canceled, the Board of Directors will notify the coaches. The coaches will then notify their teams. Coaches cannot cancel games; the decision must be made by the Board of Directors.
